Goal Setting
Clarifying What You Want, Why It Matters, And Where To Begin
Many people set goals that sound good, but do not feel personally meaningful.
You may set goals based on what you think you should want, what other people expect, or what would make you feel more acceptable. When a goal is disconnected from your values, it can be harder to maintain motivation.
In life coaching, we begin by clarifying what genuinely matters to you.
This may include personal confidence, career direction, relationships, wellbeing, habits, emotional resilience, communication, boundaries, study, creativity, business, performance, or life transitions.
Goal setting may support you to:
- Identify what you truly want to change
- Separate your goals from other people’s expectations
- Understand why the goal matters to you
- Break large goals into smaller, achievable steps
- Create realistic timeframes
- Recognise emotional blocks that may affect progress
- Define what success could look like in a healthy, flexible way
A good goal should not feel like a punishment.
It should feel like a direction. It should help you move towards something meaningful, rather than simply running away from self-criticism, shame, or fear.
Together, we shape goals that are clear, realistic, and aligned with who you are becoming.
